Structural Engineering
Structural Engineering covers a wide range of disciplines working either with Civil Engineering colleagues or working independently.
We have extensive experience in dealing with the structural aspects of residential developments including foundation design, both simple and complex, and the design of superstructure elements, including vetting specialist suppliers’ designs.
In connection with drainage schemes, we can design attenuation tanks, chambers and flood control measures. Collaboration in highway schemes might involve the design of retaining walls, culverts or barriers.
Working independently, we have a wealth of experience in both new build, renovation and conversion works in the residential and commercial/industrial sectors. We have particular expertise in renovation and conversion schemes, notably the residential conversion of agricultural buildings, from initial structural appraisals and assessments through to structural design and on-site support.
We also have widespread experience in the appraisal and diagnosis of structural defects and damage, especially in the consideration of subsidence damage, from the diagnosis of cause, identifying mitigation measures and the specification of appropriate remedial works.
In association with our Structural Engineering services, we are also able to undertake Geotechnical and Phase 1 Land Quality Contamination assessments.
We specialise in:
- New build design – residential and commercial/industrial
- Structural design in connection with drainage and flood alleviation schemes
- Structural design in connection with highway schemes
- Structural Assessments and Defect Appraisal reports
- Appraisal and diagnosis of Building Defects
- Design of remedial and renovation works including on-site support
- Geotechnical and Phase 1 Land Quality Contamination assessments
